Plan; Goal set; Focus and Go. Whatever you want to achieve that’s kinda what you need to do; it sounds so easy. “Yeah, I’m gonna make a plan, set my goals, get focused and get going.”
We do, however, need some help and guidance along the way. We are after all only human.
Now I have talked about goal setting before but here’s the thing; goals need to be revisited and kept fresh and alive in our minds.
You may have heard me say that one of my goals as a nutrition and weight-loss coach is not to be too prescriptive with my advice. Mainly because clients eventually have to take control and make their own healthy eating and lifestyle choices.
A Little Encouragement Goes a Long Way
However, I’ve come to realise that initially, people do like to be guided and encouraged before they reach that place.
So I’ve had this idea, and feel free to let me know what you think. I love to receive your comments at the end of posts. Oh, and of course you can also head over and like my facebook page @lucysnutritionalbites.
Back to my idea: it’s to start a series of posts, this being the first, with nutrition and goal setting information, tips and encouragement.
Now, I know that’s what I do anyhow, but these will be goal focused, in a step by step order. Sort of like a month-long challenge, helping you to plan, focus, goal set and go.
But before you get too comfortable, remember:
‘Nothing worth having ever comes easy.’ (not entirely accurate as some of the simple pleasures in life are free but you get my meaning)
So you will have to do your bit. DON’T panic – it won’t be difficult. It will involve some reading and tasks to complete.
The idea behind this is to keep you focused and on track which in turn will help you to achieve your healthy eating, weight loss, fitness or any goals you set.

Answer these three question to get you started or to remind yourself why you started in the first place.

Don’t respond to the questions with just one word. For example for question 2, think about how achieving your goal will make you feel.
For Question 3, your answer could be as simple as I already eat five portions of fruit and veg a day and try to take a stroll in the park in my lunch break.

2. Why is this (your goal) important to you?
3. What if anything, are you doing at the moment to move closer to your goal?

Even if you’ve set your goals already, they should be reviewed, assessed and reset on a regular basis. This way you can check you’re staying on track and keep focused.
